The Levittown Public Schools
has enjoyed a long and productive relationship
with the Yours Ours Mine Community
Center, Inc. (YOM) This relationship
has benefited countless numbers of
students attending our schools. YOM
services to public school students
have included before and after school
child care, pre-school education, family
counseling, drug and alcohol counseling,
tutoring, recreation, social assistance,
social workers and crisis intervention.
The work of being
a student in school is serious
business. Students in today’s
society face challenges and distractions
unheard of fifty years ago. Many
families are overwhelmed by these
challenges and are unable to
provide the support and consistency
necessary for successful students
in school. YOM provides an invaluable
service to students by filling
in the gaps and enabling them
to concentrate on their schoolwork
and career as a student. With
YOM’s support, students
who have been at risk have completed
a successful education, often
earning Regents diplomas, attending
college and even earning scholarships.
