 Yours
Ours Mine Community Center, Inc. (Yours Ours Mine) is a not-for-profit,
multi-faceted human services organization serving residents of Levittown
and surrounding communities. Organized in 1964 as The Youth Directional
Council, the agency is now located at 152 Center Lane, Levittown.
It provides a wide range of human services to both youth and adults
aged three years to sixty years and older.
The Community center's purpose is to improve the quality of life
for residents living in the community. Careful consideration is
given to the ever-changing economic, social and cultural differences
that community residents are facing. Yours Ours Mine exists to serve
those individuals who may be at risk in coping with familial, school,
work and health related issues to optimize day-to-day living and
contribute to a more productive and meaningful lifestyle.
Yours Ours Mine will continuously create innovative ways to assess
and evaluate its program services and resources, with the aim of
adapting to ever changing needs of families it serves. We look forward
to increased communication with the civic, fraternal, governmental,
health, corporate and educational institutions to more effectively
coordinate services and resources for all the community citizenry.
Yours Ours Mine Community Center appeals to the community at large
for increased voluntary and financial support. We recognize that
in order for the agency to fully execute its mission, generous community
fundraising, corporate and foundation grants, individual gifts and
contributions are more needed as governmental funds continuously
diminish.
Our holistic approach will require that we continue to work harder
to ensure that all community residents are given every opportunity
to share the services that are offered at the Center.
BOARD
Yours Ours Mine is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees, comprised
of concerned persons, with an interest in human services, residing,
working or having a business in Levittown and surrounding communities.
Officers are elected yearly by the Board and eligible membership.
Presently, there are three levels of membership at the agency:
(a) General membership
(b) Professional membership and
(c) Friends of YOM Committee.
The Yours Ours Mine Community Center's Board is the policy making
body, devising and carrying out policies by which the agency is
governed. They are responsible for obtaining and providing financial
resources to support the programs and services, which they have
elected to provide to the community.
